AX-Health DB

DSIMScells' technology assembles a network of genes/proteins and interactions that accurately simulates the behaviour of real biological systems. In order to do so, SIMScells loads the network with the biochemical, physiological and clinical information contained in the Anaxomics Health Database (AX-Health DB). This proprietary database includes updated scientific knowledge relating genes and proteins with drugs, pathologies, adverse events, metabolism, results from clinical trials, microarrays, biomarker information, ...

In a more detailed way, AX-Health DB features information from:

  •  Public and private databases: KEGG, UniProt, DrugBank, SIDER, GEO, IntAct, OMIM, Reactome, PDB …
  •  Proprietary data base of biological effectors: in order to include biomedical data into the models, trained PhDs are involved in the biological definition of pathologies generating an ever-increasing large amount of curated data that improves the quality of the information added to the virtual system. Thus, SIMScells’ staff has created an effect–effector dictionary, called Biological/Clinical Effectors DB, which relates biological effects (adverse events of drugs, drug indications, diseases …) with the proteins most closely related to them. Thus, it acts as a translator of clinical phenotypes into terms comprehensible for the virtual models, and conversely allows the translation of molecular measures toward clinical outcomes. This dictionary has been hand-curated by reviewing more than 15,000 scientific publications and is continuously updated to include the most recent known data. At present, it includes more than 300 biological effects (pathological conditions) connected to more than 800 physiological mechanisms (motives) and to more than 2500 proteins (effectors).
